1.) Tell a little bit about yourselves! (Where did you first meet? Where was your first Date?) Vijay and I met when Vijay was interviewing for jobs in the MA area. At the time he was living in DC, but wanted to relocate to the Boston area. He landed a job interview in Worcester, but did not have anywhere to stay. He ended up calling one of his few friends in MA, and asked if he could stay with her the night before the interview. That friend was, conveniently, my roommate at the time! Vijay stayed with us for a couple of nights, and while we didn't have too much time to get to know each other, I was immediately attracted to him, and ended up friending him on FB after he left town. Long story short, Vijay did not get the job he initially interviewed for, but got another job in MA instead. Vijay and I had stayed in loose contact over FB, because we were both looking for jobs in the ministry field (I was preparing to graduate from grad school at the time). Vijay moved to MA in August, and we saw each other a few times here and there, because of mutual friends. Due to a few major miscommunications and mixed signals (at the time, these felt devastating, now we look back on them and laugh!), it took us a while to realize that we were both interested in one another. After four months of living in the same state, and seeing each other occasionally, Vijay finally decided enough was enough, and called me at work to ask me out! A funny side bit- Vijay thought he was calling my direct line, and didn't realize he was actually calling the main line, and would be speaking with the receptionist first. He was so nervous that when the secretary said hello, he asked her out instead! By the time he was transferred to me, he was beyond flustered! I thought Vijay wanted to meet up for professional networking (we were both in the same field), and it wasn't until our mutual friend told me he intended it to be a date that I realized what was happening! We met up for coffee on December 11th 2013, and talked, and talked, and talked some more. We didn't even realize how much time had gone by until the barista came over and informed us the coffee shop was closing. We had talked for over five hours! We both left that date knowing that something special was happening. 2.) The Proposal Story! - Describe your feelings waking up the morning of the proposal. Was it like any other day? Or did you start having that "feeling" something was going to happen?! Was your soon to be fiancé acting any differently that day? (Any fun details would be great!)
- Tell us how they proposed!! - Be as detailed as you would like!
Vijay proposed on April 15th 2015. The day was like any other, and I woke up having absolutely no idea that Vijay was going to propose! I had no idea that he had been shopping for a ring, and the ring had been hidden in his apartment for over a month. We had talked about marriage, but I honestly thought he would propose over the summer. April 15th was not a special day for us in any way. The day was a normal one, and after work I headed over to Vijay's apartment. We decided to go out to dinner, and ended up having the worst dining out experience ever! After our disaster of a dinner, we headed back to his apartment. We were just cuddling on the couch, and I snuggled up to him and said, "I can't wait to marry you!" Vijay said absolutely nothing in response to this. Little did I know that Vijay took this as a sign that the moment to propose was now. His heart started beating really fast as he internally debated over what to do. I was laying against his chest, and could feel his heart beating rapidly. I even asked him if he was okay, commenting that his heart was out of control. However, I did not have the slightest idea that he was preparing to propose! Vijay then got up, and went into his room. I thought he was just changing into his PJs or something. I had no idea that he was getting the ring out from its secret hiding space! Vijay then went into the kitchen (I thought he was getting a snack), and asked me to come in and look at something. I had been laying on the couch this whole time, and rather than get up, I just shouted, "What is it?". He told me I had to come in and see for myself, and I begrudgingly got up. When I turned the corner, there was Vijay, on one knee, with the ring box in hand. I went into shock, and the first thing I said was "Wait, is this real?" Vijay then said, "Well,if you say yes, it is!" I don't really remember what happened next, because I was so surprised and everything was a blur. Vijay tells me I said yes nine times (he counted), and then I started crying. He was worried I was going to pass out because I was so overwhelmed with what was happening (overwhelmed with joy, of course!). We then called our parents and family, who were just as surprised as I was with this unexpected Wednesday proposal! 3.) Wedding Day Details! - What is your wedding date, and have you picked out your colors/theme? Our wedding is July 2, 2016. Our colors are light pink and navy. We don't have a specific theme, but we are trying to create a look that is soft, romantic, and slightly vintage (pearls, gold accents, burlap, lace). - Why did you choose the CCB for your upcoming wedding? We choose CCB for our wedding because we loved that the venue was beautiful, but simple. We felt there were so many possibilities to decorate, and make the venue our own. Some of the other venues we looked at did not have as much flexibility, and we appreciated that CCB was open about pricing and options. We both had a great feeling about CCB based solely on the website. We toured 6 venues in one day, and started with CCB. The other venues paled in comparison! - What are you most looking forward to on your special day?! We are most looking forward to having our friends and family all in one place! We are from two different states, and have lived in numerous parts of the country. A lot of Vijay's family also lives abroad, so we have never had the chance to have all of our loved ones meet one another, and be together at the same time. This is probably the only time in our lives that everyone will be together!
*Erin and Vijay - Thank you SO much for sharing your special story with us! We are so honored and cannot wait to be a part of your special day on July 2nd!! Friday, April 08 2016
Wedding Date: April 1, 2016 Wedding Colors: Black, White, and Red Mother nature was definitely playing tricks on us here in West Bridgewater, MA on the day of Jessica and Vlad’s wedding. The morning brought misty rains, and the Doppler radar kept showing a dark green (rain, rain and more rain!) for the majority of the day. We knew how much an outdoor gazebo ceremony meant to Jess and Vlad, so we were crossing our fingers and hoping the rain would subside even just for a little while. Luckily, our prayers were answered, as the gray skies began to lighten and a small of ray sunshine crept through the clouds. Red rose petals and kissing balls lined the aisle, as our first gazebo ceremony of the season began, and on “April Fools Day” of all days! J Jessica, a vision in white, descended down the aisle to her love—Vlad. What a perfect way to start their special day! Here are just a few of the special moments we captured from their wonderful reception here at the Canoe Club Ballroom! Congrats Jess & Vlad!

Wedding Date: March 25, 2016 Wedding Colors: Silver and Light Pink First Dance Song: “Die A Happy Man” Ever since the first time we met Danielle, we knew hers and Christopher’s special day was going to be perfect. Danielle was our bubbly, super friendly and detail oriented bride. Every detail was carefully crafted and mapped out from the very beginning, so once the day had finally arrived—they were able to fully enjoy it J One thing we have always told our couples on their wedding day is to try to be present, and enjoy their day! Dancing the night away among their family and friends, Danielle and Christopher did just that. One of our favorite details from their special day included a personally crafted picture from Danielle’s mother. She had created a picture for guests to apply their thumb prints and sign as their guestbook! Congrats again to Danielle & Christopher! Here are just a few of the special moments we captured from their big day!

Wedding Date: March 19, 2016 Wedding Colors: Pewter and Light Pink First Dance Song: “I Can’t Help Falling in Love” One of our favorite aspects of Mackenzie and Darren’s special day was their hidden details! For those of you who have a love for anything Harry Potter, you will understand how much we swooned over Mackenzie and Darren’s toast glasses! One glass had the symbol of the “deathly hallows” and the word “Always” , and the second glass had a steer patronous (oh snape, our hearts have melted!) They also had a unicorn piñata as a photobooth prop to display Mackenzie’s love for fun and unicorns! Mackenzie and Darren were the type of couple that you just wanted to be around. Mackenzie’s smile would light up a room, and Darren was the easy-going guy that would make you laugh. They were fun, family oriented, and just genuinely sweet people. We hope that they enjoy these special moments that we captured from their big day, as much as we did! Congrats Mackenzie & Darren!

I had always dreamed of the day when I would be standing on a pedestal, surrounded by my nearest and dearest dressed in a white gown. So... the day after I officially said "yes to the dress", I decided to write about my experience so that I could always remember it! From one past bride to a future bride, here is my story! The ride from Pat and I's apartment to the bridal boutique was only about 25 minutes, but it felt like an hour. I don't know if I was anxious, excited, or anxiously excited but I could feel my heart beating faster and faster as we approached the shop. Strange and anxious thoughts started to pop into my head. "Should I wear my hair down today, even though I'll probably wear it up that day?!" "Should I tell my mom to stop, so we can pick up a pair of shoes to try the dresses on with? (No, they obviously have shoes to sample there--duh!) Why was I so nervous? It's just a dress..... Well no, it's THE dress. The dress that I've been pinning ideas for on Pinterest since we got engaged last Christmas Eve. The dress I've been imagining myself walking down the aisle in for what seems like forever. The dress that would finally make me feel like all of this was actually REAL and happening. To say I had a bridal crew with me that day would be an understatement. I had a full blown entourage. My mother, future mother in law, future sister in law, my maid of honor, aunt and grandmother all greeted me as we began to ascend the stairs to Ve'Lace Bridal's boutique shop. I took a quick glimpse of what would be our mini-sanctuary for the next hour. A white curved leather couch sat in the center of the room surrounded by beautiful bridal gowns. A floor length mirror stared back at me as I realized there were no other brides here. It was literally, just us. Just me. The way I had always hoped it would be. I knew I had found the perfect place! After chatting with one of the bridal consultants about my vision, (fit & flare, lacy look (well, not too lacy), textured accents, sparkle and a must needed belt that would tie everything together--yes I kinda knew exactly what I was looking for haha) it was time to start pulling gowns. All 7 of us began to scour the room, looking for that perfect gown. Some that we thought would work, others to just try "for fun"-- I honestly felt like a kid in a candy shop. Walking through the dresses as if I were in the lion, the witch and the wardrobe-- I overheard my nana and cousin talking about a gown on display. "This gown is beautiful, you need to try it on!" And they were right. It was beautiful. We pulled that last gown and made our way to the fitting room. As my bridal entourage clinked their champagne glasses on the couch to celebrate, I was in the little fitting room taking in the moment as I pulled on the first gown. Welp, here we go. As I walked across the floor towards the white pedestal, I could feel that for the first time everyone's eyes were on me. What a strange feeling it was, standing there, staring at myself in the mirror in a bridal gown. I started to create a mental checklist as I turned to show off the different angles of the dress for everyone.
(Though we all agreed it was beautiful, I decided to try on a few more dresses for good measure.) Dress # 2 : Pretty, but too much lace. I felt like a Dollie. Dress # 3 : Beautiful, fit like a glove, but it just wasn't sparkly enough. Plain. Dress # 4 : Lacy and straps? Too much, I couldn't even make the walk out to show everyone Dress # 5 : Another lacy dress with straps that just didn't work out Dress # 6: More of a blush colored A-line....not a fan None of the gowns fit or felt like the first one. They didn't have the sparkle that I was hoping for. Maybe it will be different if we added a little something? A belt? Yes, a belt! That's what we were missing the first time around. It has to be. Belt # 1- Not enough sparkle and too much ribbon Belt # 2 - Too skinny, way too skinny And there it was. Belt # 3. The Mon Cheri belt with the floral embellishments that sparkled as the consultant walked across the room with it. Looking into the mirror as she placed the belt below my chest, I got a weird butterfly type feeling in my stomach. Oh my god. This is it. This is what this actually feels like. For the first time, i could imagine myself getting married in this very gown. As I turned around to show everyone, I couldn't help but blurt out "Yup! This is it!" And there they were-- cheering, agreeing as a happy set of tears shed throughout the room. I looked at my mom and asked her what she thought. I honestly can't even remember what she said because the next thing I knew, she was standing there--crying right beside me on the pedestal and giving me the biggest hug. This was it. I found it. The next several minutes have now become a blur but I did get to say the famous words, "yes! I'm saying yes to the dress"!
Advice for Future Brides: If I could give any advice to our future brides, I would definetely say to be open! Be open to the experience as a whole, and to try on different styles! You never know what style will work best until you give them all a try! Sunday, March 06 2016
Candy Stations have become one of the most popular wedding day favors over the past few years! Candy stations are a great way to bring out a couple’s whimsical personality, and are always a guaranteed hit with the guests! Some stations are unique and colorful, others compliment a couple’s wedding colors perfectly and completely! Whichever approach you decide to take with your candy station, we always recommend purchasing a little extra candy—just in case we need to replenish it for you! Here is a little candy station checklist of the items that you will need for your big day: 1.) Candy, Candy, CANDY! Many couples will purchase different types of candy, so that their guests have a variety to choose from! You can never have too much candy, trust us! :) 2.) Jars and Holders! We have found that glass jars and holders work best! Different shapes and sizes will add a unique touch for your candy display. 3.) Scoops and Tongs for the different candy that will be displayed on your station. Little advice: scoops are always better for M&M’s, Sixlets, gummi bears, and little candies! Tongs are a better option for any wrapped candies, gummi worms, etc! 4.) Bags for the candy! This is where you can get a little creative if you want! We’ve seen many couples provide monogrammed bags for their guests’ candy with their wedding date on it, just to add a little personalized touch for their special day. 5.) Signs! What better way to make a candy station yours, than by adding a cute sign for your guests to see! “Love is Sweet, Take a Treat” is one of our favorites! And of course, here are a few candy stations we’ve seen over the past year!

Our advice: Any way that you can personalize your special day with details and decor, please do so! Pictures - Many couples will display pictures of their love story throughout the room to create a more personalized touch. We have seen this done by many couples by simply framing photos of the two of them over the years—which could then be used for beautiful décor or even as individual table numbers!
Signs - A very popular trend (thanks to pinterest and etsy!) are for couples to incorporate signs into their wedding day details! Some of our favorites include: Mr. & Mrs. Block lettering to be displayed on your sweetheart table, social media signs (Instagram = most popular!), Love Story Timelines, Welcome & Thank You signs, marque letters, and many more! Signs and cute sayings are just another way to make your special day reflect the two of you!
Memorial Tables – Memorial tables are another popular idea for couples on their special day. Memorial tables are a sentimental way to pay tribute and acknowledge friends & family members who have passed on. Many couples will display pictures of their loved ones, light a candle in their honor, or even dedicate a single chair/table to those who are unable to be present on their day. One of the many (and possibly the hardest) wedding decisions you will make for your upcoming big day is selecting songs for your special dances! Are you looking for a song that represents your relationship with the other person you are dancing with? Are you thinking more along the lines of an upbeat song, because you know anything slow might cause the tears to flow?! Which ever song you do select, make sure it is one that you love! J Traditional dances such as the “father/daughter”, and “mother/son” dances are ones that you will typically find at most weddings. In recent years, we have had the honor of seeing many brides dancing with their mothers (as their father may have passed away), grandparents, and even our couples dancing with their children to celebrate a special moment in time! We have compiled some of our favorite (and popular!) songs for your dance with that special person on your big day! Father/ Daughter Songs: 1.) My Little Girl – Tim McGraw 2.) Butterfly Kisses – Bob Carlisle 3.) I Loved Her First – Heartland 4.) Isn’t She Lovely – Stevie Wonder 5.) The Way You Look Tonight – Frank Sinatra
Mother / Son Songs: 1.) A Song for Mama – Boys II Men 2.) My Wish – Rascal Flatts 3.) I Hope You Dance – Lee Ann Womack 4.) Simple Man – Lynyrd Skynyrd 5.) You’ll Be in My Heart – Phil Collins
